October 10 & 11: “Uncommon Splendor”

Uncommon Splendor celebrates the richness, diversity, and brilliance of the Baroque era through a program of rarely performed chamber masterpieces for violin, flute, and continuo. The journey begins with the pastoral elegance of James Oswald's Airs for the Seasons ("Autumn"), whose lyrical melodies evoke the beauty and character of the changing season, and continues with the expressive brilliance of Isabella Leonarda's Sonata Duodecima, a remarkable work by one of the seventeenth century's most distinguished women composers. The program also features music by Jean-Marie Leclair and Pierre-Gabriel Buffardin, showcasing the virtuosity, refinement, and imagination that flourished across Baroque Europe. Together, these uncommon gems reveal the extraordinary color, expressive depth, and inventive spirit of Baroque chamber music beyond the familiar canon, inviting audiences to discover a world of elegance and vitality.

January 9 & 10: “Voice of the Cello”

• Sunday, January 10 at 4pm - The Table United Methodist Church, Sacramento

Explore the rich sonority of the cello as its role develops through the Baroque era, from unique instrumental forms such as canons and ricercars to expressive vocal styles. Early repertoire for this solo instrument gave way to sonata forms and the combination of two or more bass instruments accompanying the solo cello. This concert indulges in beautiful combinations of cello lines, bathing the listener in a harmonious union of cello voices.

February 18, 20 & 21: “Beauty of Baroque”

• Sunday, February 21 at 2pm - Harris Center for the Arts, Folsom**

An Austrian wonder, Alexander Umundum, will thrill audience members with his extraordinary talents on the recorder. At the age of 14, Alexander has won competitions throughout Europe and makes his American debut. This exciting program is being presented as a collaboration between Sacramento Baroque Soloists and Great Composers Chamber Music Series.

** Please be advised that Harris Center for the Arts will not honor Season Tickets. Tickets for the February 21st performance are managed independently by the venue and must be purchased separately via the Harris Center website beginning September 2, 2026.
