Lisa Marie Lawson,
Music director, violinist
and violist, founded Sacramento Baroque Soloists with her husband
Michael in 2001. A native of Portland, Oregon, Lisa received her music
performance degrees from Peabody Conservatory and University of Southern
California, where her primary teachers were Paul Coletti and Donald
McInnes. Her baroque studies have been with James Tyler, Elizabeth
Field, and Michael Sand. Lisa has performed at festivals in the United
States and Europe, including the Accademia Musicale Chigiana where she
received the Diplome D'Honore and the Guido Chigi Prize. In 1999 she
performed as solo violinist in the Sacramento Area Bach Festival, where
her performance of the Bach Chaconne was praised in the Sacramento Bee
as *delivered with a wonderfully personal feeling...remarkable for the
amount of expression she conveyed.* Lisa performs on a 1726 Celoniatus violin and a 1733
Klotz viola.
